Migrate from FoxOMS

Sonderplan is the next evolution of FoxOMS, and is produced and supported by the same team behind FoxOMS.com. When creating Sonderplan we took great care to offer a seamless migration path from FoxOMS to Sonderplan.

Migrating to Sonderplan

The path to migrate your team from FoxOMS to Sonderplan is to simply login to Sonderplan using the same credentials as you are using in FoxOMS. All of your data is already in Sonderplan and is also continually synchronised in both directions between FoxOMS and Sonderplan. It is even possible for some members of your team to use Sonderplan and others to continue to use FoxOMS, although we do recommend they switch to Sonderplan to take advantage of the new interface and features.

Incompatibilities

Whilst the greatest of care has been taken to maintain backwards compatibility with FoxOMS, some improvements were not possible to port back to FoxOMS.

Quotes & Invoices

Perhaps the most significant breaking change has been to Quotes/Invoices. The introduction of Item Groups meant that Quotes & Invoices generated in Sonderplan cannot be opened in FoxOMS. Conversely, Quotes & Invoices generated in FoxOMS must be upgraded to be able to be opened in Sonderplan. Once this upgrade has been performed, the Quote/Invoice can no longer be opened in FoxOMS.

Schedule User Preferences

Another change in Sonderplan, many Schedule view preferences have been changed from global settings (where an Administrator sets the preference, and it is applied to all Users) to individual local User Preferences (each User can customise the view to their liking).

This allows for a lot of flexibility as each User can customise the Schedule to suite their preference, however they may need guidance from Administrators or consult our User Documentation to customise the Schedule as it was in FoxOMS.
